His Girl

purity

We are called to be different. We are called to be unique. We are called to be strong, yet we are also called by God to become pure and holy as He is holy.

“…Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16

The world and the media constantly posts out their images of how a young woman should become. Makeup, revealing clothing, excessive dieting, boys, sex, and etc are just some the fabrications they aim to plague our minds with. They want us to become their slaves and conform to their deception when through Christ we are supposed to be free. To the world, purity is just a mockery; a joke to laugh about, when instead it is such a beauty and jewel that must be securely kept.

As girls becoming as young women, we should want to become and stay pure. Not just sexually but mentally and spiritually pure too. The definition for pure from the dictionary says this, “clear; free from blemishes….free from anything of a different inferior contaminating kind; free from extraneous [foreign] matter…”

In other words, we are called to be different-not like this world. Being pure also means to be free from worldly influences. When you hear the word purity, the image that automatically pops into your mind is…No sex until marriage. True enough, however purity isn’t just abstinence. Being pure in your mind and spirit is also what God calls us to be.

Challenging as it may seem, especially living in a sexy driven world.  BUT IT CAN BE DONE!  Purity, however, is not  just a command for girls; there are so many guys out there who holding on to purity as well. Not every guy is a sex driven maniac as the TV or media portrays. There are actually many guys out there who are living for Christ and are becoming the men God is calling them to be. God calls each and every one of us to become like Him. I already know what you’re saying…”Well, I’m not perfect.” And I totally and completely understand that. I’m not perfect (and no where near towards that mark) and can never become perfect. However, striving towards holiness can keep us from a lot of heartache and troubles in the future!

So as His Girl we are EXTRAordinary! Distinctive girls with a purpose, daughtersof the King of Kings, and we are much more than the eye can see. We are set apart, holy and acceptable to God and all He wants from us to become like Him.

Verses for today and for your thoughts:

Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Awesome! That’s the kind of thing girls of this generation need to hear! You don’t have to “earn” love. You don’t have to fit into the category of what others call “beautiful”. You were MADE beautiful. Keep it up! I can hear your heart. This blog is awesome.
