Becoming His Girl

His Girl

Being a Girl after God’s Own Heart

We are called to be different. We are called to be unique. We are called to be strong, and we are also called by God to become pure and holy as He is holy. Yet despite all of that God wants a close and very personal relationship with each and every one of us. Yes, you! God wants us to be His. His Daughter! His precious jewel! His Girl!

I know as a girl myself that the world is constantly pressuring us to conform and to withdraw us from our values. However, we don’t have too! The world has their own views on what a girl is supposed to be…and well, so does God! He tells us in His Word that it doesn’t matter on what we look like on the outside, whether you are black or white, small or big, it is the beauty that is supposed to be in our hearts that really matters…and that is what God really looks at. Our hearts. Not our past, not our future, not what we look like or what we think we are. God looks at our hearts and He wants to just like Him in all the beauty that He is. So that is what this blog is all about: to allow our inner beauty shine for the world to take notice. That’s what it means to be God’s girl!

Why I started this blog:

I began this blog when I was in 9th grade (Formerly known as Pure Girl) as an opportunity to share my personal, ongoing relationship with God. I wanted to express what it is like trying to be the girl walking with God. I also wanted to state that I’m not perfect…not even close to that mark. But I that doesn’t give me the excuse to just live the way I want to live. At this precious age we are still trying to find ourselves. Who am I? What do I want to be once I graduate? All of these questions buzzing in our minds…but right now, I want to focus on being the Woman of God that God is creating me to become. And everything else will just come to pass.

As girls, I know it’s hard to live a pure life and to stand up for what we believe a times especially when the world constantly challenges us to withdraw from our values. However, we can do it. Maybe not by ourselves, but together we can do all thing through Christ who can give us strength. His Girl was originally written to become a Christian blog for teenage girls. However, it doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not or whether if you’re a girl or a boy, a child or an adult…this blog is solely written because I wanted to express myself and boast about my God in a way that I’m usually comfortable in doing….writing!

I wanted to use that opportunity to share my personal journey as a young  girl (update: I am now a college student 🙂 ) learning more and more about God each day personally. I never realized how much God loves me and His yearning for me to be His until recently. I want other girls (and even boys!) to realize that God isn’t some fairy-tale. He isn’t distant or far off. He wants a personal relationship with us. He wants to shower His love on us, to bless us, to become His sons and daughters. He wants us to be His girl (hence the name of the blog). God wants us to be like Him.

My Mission:

My mission through this ministry is to help other teens and girls my age to have a closer relationship with Christ and to walk in His purpose. I also want to show that living a saved life isn’t boring or dull as many may assume wrongly. And giving our lives for Christ isn’t foolish…but exciting and joyous! Girls, I want to express that life isn’t all about boys, the latest trends, etc. As a young woman myself, I know the struggles out there in life for us and we can all get through this together if we all can just get beyond our boundaries and just lend a helping hand.  I’m not perfect, not even by a strand, but this blog is also for me as well. To help remind what living for God is truly about and how amazing it is to live for Christ! Every post that I write are struggles that I need to work on in order to be the woman of God is calling me to be. So please do not think I am condemning or pointing fingers at you…There are so many depths and heights in God that I need to reach that I haven’t even touched yet as a Christian. However, one day we can all reach that point! This blog is also to show God’s unique and unconditional love for each individual. Prayerfully, God might reveal Himself to you and show Himself mightily in your life.

I Think this website is awesome for young girls. when reading this i see God;s heart on it. I know that God has called to to minister to the young women that are hurt lost and broken. I would sugguest you have people such as myself to give testimonies on how God saved me/ them. I was saved at the age 16 when i wanted to commit suicide. I am now 23 on a mission for God!!. I can’t wait to see what God has in store. HALLELUJAH!!!!

      Hey Kayla,
I’m sorry I didn’t reply sooner, I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to due to school and other responsibilities. You have such an amazing testimony by what I have read so far. I’m really thankful that you have enjoyed this blog (To God be the glory) and I am so excited about how God is already using you. I will really think about your suggestion. I have never thought about that and I think that is a nice idea. If you want to write your testimony, you are free to comment on the blog and I might post it. However, I will have to ask with my pastor about it first.
      God bless
